I can say she is very knowledgeable and does not pass judgement. She listens to natural approaches to problems and is open to alternative approaches alongside her medicinal advice. I appreciate bluntness, especially in the medical profession. That approach may not work for everyone but it aligns with how I receive information. Dr. Laura Frontera did not take the time to fully review my daughter's symptoms to make a proper diagnosis. No tests were run because the lab was closed so she just prescribed my daughter antibiotics without having any idea whether her infection was bacterial or viral. She was extremely vague, unfriendly and I felt rushed. I took her to the ER so they could run tests. It turns out she had a viral infection all along and is on the way to recovery without the need of antibiotics. I do not recommend this doctor.
We have had to see Dr. Frontera on occasion for sick visits when Dr. Rincon is not available (Dr. Rincon is an amazing compassionate doctor). Dr. Frontera does not take time to build rapport with kids or parents. She is blunt, no bedside manner, does not seem interested in listening or problem solving for children who are fearful of needles or procedures. I am not sure why she chose pediatrics as a profession because lacks empathy and the skill set to connect with children.
Got in because of a first time consultation and left with post traumatic stress for all the nonsense this "physician" said after 5 minutes of reviewing my child's screening. This lady has issues she should take care before, her bitterness shows she does not care about attending children, does not know how to address or explain a situations, and on top of all, her attitude and rudeness make parents uncomfortable and imposes her demanding to the point of feeling threatened.
The facility, office staff and nurses are great, but this specific physician is disrespectful and has a poor attitude. She clearly has a bias that truly reflects as unprofessional. Not at all what I would expect or want in a health care provider, especially for children and adolescents. In a doctoring profession, there is no excuse for this to be the legacy you leave in patient interactions. Perhaps she should consider research.
She is awful with kids, rude, and incompetent. I'm genuinely surprised someone like her even finished medical school. She clearly went into pediatrics for the money. I highly recommend you stay away from her.
I've seen Dr Frontera a few times when I needed to see the first available dr. Her bedside manner is terrible and she generally is not kid friendly. I have asked not to see her again as it was an unpleasant experience and I'd advise you do the same. On the contrary, Dr Villar is amazing!!! But she's always busy so you need to schedule an appointment well in advance.
