My son has been attending this center for 2 years. The staff is wonderful and I love their approach to teaching life skills. My son is now able to communicate his needs, I now know how to help him when he has meltdowns and he is socializing with his peers. We still have other goals to accomplish.
We are absolutely in love with everyone at this center. My son went from being nonverbal, crying and screaming for everything to talking, playing, interacting with other children and much much more. We are so grateful for the staff at Life Skills Academy in Katy! Every person that we have encountered has been very kind and helpful. I love when I wake my son up in the mornings and tell him it's time to get ready and he jumps up and says "Yay! I go see my friends!" I would not change this center for any other one! Worst experience ever. Very discriminatory, unprofessional & dismissive.... Administration in particular. Rules and policies abruptly change every week. There were only a few people who were always nice to us and helped as much as they could. My child was also injured here and nobody felt the need to tell me until a week later and I'm sure if I would've never asked them any questions they would have never told me anything. I like the facility and the staff is always is friendly. Therapist made goal for my kid each month and collaborated with our own goals. They expressed that the therapy approach is different from other. Which is what help make our decision to come to life skill. 4 months later we saw new tech every week. When we ask how our kid did on that day. The tech response was they work on eye contact through the 8 hr.
