I’ll be honest—reaching out for therapy in the first place was one of the hardest parts for me. It takes a lot to admit you need support, make the appointment, arrange your schedule, and mentally prepare yourself to show up. My first appointment was canceled because I had somehow been scheduled on Memorial Day, a federal holiday. I was contacted and told it was a scheduling error. We met Dr. Miranda Chakos for the first time today. She and her staff were very warming and helped us with paperwork. The office is clean and comfortable, convenient and private. She was so nice we felt like we knew her. Very happy we were introduced to Dr. Chakos.
I have using a psychiatrist, Dr Melissa Gross, from Lifestance for well over a year now. I have found her to be responsive and caring. Lifestance as a business has been wonderful to work with; they are firm about no-shows and late cancels but are very accommodating if you need to cancel or reschedule within their parameters which I have found to be more than fair. I have recommended both Dr Gross and Lifestance to several of my friends. They offer in-office and télé-visits which I appreciate as I live in Southern Suffolk.
I do not have major complaints about LifeStance health. However, the provider I had treated me horribly and I dreaded every appointment because she was going beyond the bounds of the services I needed from her. I didn't know how to push back because I was afraid she would stop prescribing my medication, but she was treating me like some kind of delinquent.
