If I could rate zero stars, I would. Westside Psychotherapy used to be a five star establishment. The therapists were excellent and the business was transparent about policies and billing. Once it was acquired by LifeStance, my experience there became terrible, with the exception of my actual therapist who is excellent. First, LifeStance refused to grandfather me in with my Westside Psychotherapy rate, which was pretty frustrating for someone who was already a client. Uncoordinated. I was passed to 6 different phone staff. No one had a clue how to get me scheduled with the therapist I requested & had been on a waitlist for even though a person named Marissa from their office reached out with specific guidelines for me to follow-up. When I did, I was passed around 6 times and no one knew what to do.

While I found it easy to and quick to be match with a therapist here, the quality of their counselors is lacking. I had my worst experience ever with a therapist at Westside (which seems to have been sold to Lifestance). Instead of offering "loyalty and protectiveness" as mentioned in her profile, she berated me and belittled almost every session. The therapists here are incredibly welcoming. The relationship therapist was amazing. Neither I nor my spouse felt that the therapist was aligned with one or the other. We both felt heard and understood rather than judged. We both came out of the sessions understanding more about ourselves and the other person and we left with skills that we use on a daily basis in our relationship.

I have only worked with Jennifer B., but I really cannot praise her enough for her work. I have have a handful of different therapists over the last 11 years, and Jennifer is by far my favorite for several reasons. She has a very flexible, comprehensive approach and is always kind, patient, respectful, and thoughtful. That being said, she is not afraid to challenge you (which I greatly appreciate).
