My psychiatrist Chandra from Lifestance has been the best I've ever had. And she has helped me immensely. She goes out of her way to help and genuinely cares about her patients and goes the extra mile. I've recommended multiple friends who have had the same experience.
The problem with LifeStance is the lack of scheduling resources. They never answer the phone. You can call 100 times in a row, and nobody ever picks up. When you arrive, the lobby is empty. Someone was working the front desk once. Nobody appears to work here regularly but the therapists. There's a customer portal, but you can't manage appointments or cancel appointments. I had a first appointment with Jordan Collins, PhD that left me feeling judged rather than supported. He made dismissive comments about my living situation and reacted unprofessionally when I disclosed my relationship style. When I mentioned RSD, he seemed unfamiliar with it outside of a textbook context and immediately connected it to BPD and bipolar rather than recognizing it as common in neurodivergent people. It is almost impossible to get ahold of someone by phone here. I tried to get ahold of someone here several times and I ended up being transferred to the Decatur office somehow. I was also transferred to someone named Roland several times. I just wanted to talk to someone in the Springfield office.
They have been very helpful in my situation. I do not wish to go over my reasoning for being there however they truly compose a great treatment plan and converse very well and listen to any and all questions and provide their answers without “holdback.”
