Went to LifeStance for a trans-friendly gender therapist. Deadnamed and misgendered repeatedly by the office staff despite it being *very* visible in my patient profile (phone calls, messages, etc). Therapist I saw ended up claiming "my dysphoria was too intense for her to treat" after I had wasted money on an intake and first appointment with her, and tried to send me in circles to a different one in the practice. I've tried numerous therapists at this location and I felt that none of them were really well- trained in modern psychological methodologies. Therapy was surface level, not introspective, and there was a significant lack of patience from all the counselors I saw. It was disappointing at best, but also speaks to the poor state of mental health care in this country.
Went for my appt today for med management and was incorrectly booked under an np for children services only was not informed until I was there . Wasn’t offered a new spot until a completely new intake was completed??Then when I called bc they never called to correct the matter I wasn’t given an appointment til a month later…the office was nice and front desk staff nice but would have liked someone to actually check in next time to correct their mistake when getting psych appt are hard to come by.
I just went to LifeStance for the first time today to establish therapy here in Kenosha. Scheduling was easy, and the person I first spoke with was very friendly and worked hard to work with my schedule.
Christine Foster listened carefully, took very good notes on the important issues related to my medically complex adult child, and explained clearly and thoroughly what she was prescribing, why, and what to expect.
