12 days ago the LRS truck broke down at the end of my driveway blocking any attempt for me to safely back out. After an hour I had to leave for work and the driver tried to assist me to back out using my neighbors driveway as ours are connected. In doing so I scratched the side door and rear panel on the mailbox but that was my only way to get out. I called LRS and spent an hour on hold and told they would look into it and get back to me. Do not use Lakeshore Recycling Services for trash pickup if you need trash service!! They are literally the worst company I have ever dealt with. We moved out of Lombard a year and a half ago and cancelled their service. It took them weeks to pick up the trash cans even after repeated calls and we have continued to get bills for service we do not have. It is very difficult to get a human being to talk to. When you do, they actually don't have any authority to help and keep parroting policy to you no matter what. Their online payment system repeatedly froze money in my bank account saying "pending." This was not credited to them, but also not available to me. Trying 3X for a $300 bill means $900 locked. We sometimes need a third receptacle for a heavy trash week and have been using the same one for years - we purchase the necessary sticker. Suddenly (without any previous notification), last week they decided not to empty it. We called customer service and they said something like "you were supposed to use a bag". 2 weeks no pickup for recycling (which my city pays for) and 2 weeks of no trash pickup. My account is active and green with no past due balance. They don't answer the phone or callback or email. LRS sucks
