I have been working with Marissa for the last 3 years or should I say she has been working with me. She has really help bring out of a really dark place. When we started I did more crying and not listening. And today I can now laugh. I am so blessed that God put her on my life.
She seems to have no interest in engaging with her clients on a human level. Very much a business transaction. My psychiatric needs were very simple but even then she seemed unable or uninterested in ensuring I was getting the help I needed. I sent her a message a week ago asking for a medication refill so that I wouldn't run out before our next appointment and I never heard from her. Totally turned me off from the entire enterprise. She is not good at her job. As others have mentioned, she has serious issues with listening and often jumps to conclusions, cuts you off, or gets defensive easily. She’ll ask you how you’re feeling on your new medication and then get defensive when you tell her your very real side effects that you’re experiencing. Like suddenly you’re a whiner, even though she ASKED, and it’s also her job to catalog and minimize said side effects as much as possible. Horrible experience. Spoke with her yesterday and I had an awful experience. She was so rude when we started just because I had some connectivity issues, even though she too had some issues connecting. She's impatient and caused me anxiety simply because I had to repeat myself because she doesn't know how to listen. It's like she's thinking of what to say next. Horrible, I she refuses to listen and actually have a conversation with a patient. I have adhd and she said I might need antidepressant first because it is what could be the cause of my executive disfunction. I've been medicated before for adhd and know it isn't the reason. I tried to simple have a conversation about medication symptoms she wanted to put me on and got mad saying that I was "trying to get adderal", I do prefer stimulants because they have help me in the past but I was in-fact open to the other medications, I ... read more
