Dr. Mulcahy and her staff were wonderful with my mother. They gave her 6 quality years of life, after she was given only 6 months at another hospital. She and her staff were always empathetic, very patient and very informative. My family and I were very satisfied with her. As busy as she is, she always took the time with my mother to hear about her stories from the old country, but when it came time for serious conversation she was strictly business. Maybe people confuse her seriousness with bad bedside manner, but I will ta... read more
Dr. Mulcahy is an amazing doctor! When we sought out her help and expertise, it was not because of bedside manner. She is an OUTSTANDING oncologist. My wife and I were looking for someone to keep me alive and well---and that was and is the # 1 goal. We wanted someone honest, straight-forward, and no BS. ALSO, I have experienced her as a doctor who is compassionate and caring knowing that I have a very serious and challenging to treat cancer. She listens, answers questions, does not rush thru appointments, and she gets back t... read more
My husband is alive 14 years later, cancer free, and with a great quality of life because of Dr Mary Mulcahey. The 5 year survival rate, at the time of diagnosis, was approx 30%. Jim has been alive to see our son graduate from college, daughter get married, and the birth of 2 grandsons. Both my husband and I are in the healthcare field and we highly recommend this physician.
Thorough, excellent.
Excellent physician. Very knowledgeable and compassionate! I am over 10 years cancer free after being given less than 50% chance of survival.
TOTALLY AGREE NAILED IT WHY IS SHE THE ONLY OPTION SHE IS HORRIBLE
I agree that she is very negative and has no empathy for the emotional aspect of a patient or family. My husband originally had surgery at the University of Pittsburg and that team was outstanding in managing a very challenging situation. Our son is a physician and was appalled at how she interacted with us. She may be a knowledgeable physician but there are multiple aspects to healthcare that are important. She definitely needs some education in interpersonal skills or she should move out of direct interaction with patients... read more
If you are about to go through Cancer Treatment and you are looking for an oncologist, this is the last place you want to go. They are always behind schedule, once you see them they are not up to date on your file (you feel like it's the first time they've met you every time), they NEVER call to see how you are doing with regard to side effects, symptoms of treatment etc. and they are highly unorganized! Most of all, they lack compassion. They are so desensitized to what the patient is going through on many levels. If being ... read more
The people giving her high ratings here most likely were diagnosed with stage 1-3 cancers. If you have stage 4, stay far away. She treats you like a statistic and has absolutely no compassion or remorse. I'm sure she's knowledgeable and is respected by her colleagues but she has an incredibly negative demeanor. With stage 4 disease, you need a doctor who makes you feel like they're on your side. There are plenty of doctors with her expertise but will have COMPASSION.
Mary Mulcahey, MD has a 3.5 star rating with 11 reviews.
