This was our first time dining at Mayahuel, and overall it was a beautiful experience. We ordered the Chef’s Special tasting menu, and everything was absolutely delicious. The drinks were amazing each one felt like a little journey and every dish we tried was full of flavor and thoughtfully prepared. Everything felt impeccable. The service was great, the ambiance was perfect, and the restaurant itself is very comfortable. The soft colors and the unique scent of the space really stand out,it plays with your senses and truly ... read more
Ambiance of this place is fantastic. But I think the food needs some work. It's clear to me they are trying to be upscale Mexican? Which is super hard to pull off. I got the ceviche, blue tuna, croquets, the short rib, seafood tacos. I don't think the food was good enough to justify the cost. Two small tacos for more then $20 is too much. Title: Tons of Potential My wife and I had a 7:30 p.m. Saturday reservation and were excited to try Mayahuel, given our experiences dining in Mexico City and at modern Mexican restaurants in Houston. I dropped my wife at the door and walked back in the cold, which set an awkward tone from the start. At the host stand, my wife was told our table wasn’t ready, so we waited at the bar. We ordered a mezcal flight,... read more
Wonderful dining experience. A tasty adventure filled with culinary delights in every bite. The dishes were creative and beautifully presented. They provided a complimentary amuse bouche. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Their chocolate desert is a must try. I would pass on the steak since it was not as tender, and order the short rib in the future
Every single thing we ate here was incredible. We had the Hamachi Tiradito, Tacos Mar y Tierra, Carne Asada, and cacao. The service was fantastic and the ambience was perfect, so well designed and beautiful while also feeling intimate. Perfect for a date night.
