Wow wow. I was reticent heading into our Friday night reservation because I had heard mixed reviews both from friends and the internet, but we absolutely loved our whole experience at Mayahuel. It’s definitely an elevated experience, not for the casual catch up. The staff was really friendly and patient with our big group. I wish they had a few more options for brunch but what they had was delicious. The matcha latte was great!
I had higher hopes for Mayahuel with all the hype around it and even someone who has visited Mexico City and had almost the same type of food. Mind you we do not have any entrees, we tried a variety of tacos, had a couple cocktails and dessert. I give it a 4/5 only because I've had better/tastier "boujee" tacos for half the price. Everything from start to finish was excellent! A warm greeting at the door and a very well versed staff! The Bartenders we also very welcoming and knowledgeable. We got to our table right on time and our server was delightful and over all amazing! The menu Chef Luis put together is phenomenal if I could have ordered one of everything I would have! We had the most amazing experience tonight! Every bite and sip was perfection. The cocktails were unlike anything I’ve had before—so unique and beautifully balanced. I ordered the Maya cocktail, which had sumac and sesame oil—absolutely stunning. The food was just as impressive. We tried the beef croquettes, the pork belly tacos, and the surf and turf tacos, and every single dish was a flavor explosion.
