If I could give this place zero stars I would. My one year for four days had high fevers going up to 102, not eating, barely drinking, coughing, runny nose, dark green poops, very little wet diapers and crying nonstop as he cannot get comfortable. Took him in on day 2 as fever wasn’t getting better. K Jacobsen NP seen him and didn’t even bother to run any tests especially strep. Selected MercyOne as the urgent care in Ankeny based off of a higher review score than other urgent cares in the area and I'm glad I did. Got an appointment right away today (Saturday). After I walked in, the receptionist was so friendly. I got right in, was swabbed for strep which came back positive and saw Dr. Taylor Sanders right after the test who was very nice and helpful. The front desk lady was very Polite. She acknowledged me as soon as I walked in the door and asked me She could help me. The doctor is helping me we’re very polite and attentive as to why I was there. Very considerate of my feelings. Both the waiting room and the back office and my room to be seen in or very clean. I appreciate how very caring the staff, nurses and doctors are!
The staff there are very rude and incompetent. My son came in with obvious signs of strep throat, but the way they handled it was like they were scared. They swabbed the inside of his cheek close to his lips not anywhere near his throat. Came back negative, surprise. The diagnosis was hands foot and throat, but didn’t check his hands or feet for similar signs. Oh and with that diagnosis there’s no medicine. The receptionist was very sweet and it was an easy process to get in. However, I went in to get strep test- then was offered an influenza and covid test when that came back negative. When waiting in the room I overheard the staff talking about me and my tests being negative, essentially making fun of patients for coming there to get tested, which I found very unprofessional.
