I would give the nurses that were ON DUTY 5 stars for there job done with my father who passed on the 18th that being said I would give one of your nurses a neg. 5 star for what she said being a nurse should hold her to a higher standard than most and her name i Julie Draper. Mercy One was once one of the best hospitals you could ever go to. But now the patient care is mediocre at best and dangerous to your health at worst. I received a CT scan and at the end of the scan I started having extremely painful spasms which knocked me down. I was rushed to the ER by the CT staff and then abandoned in the ER waiting room. I waited 2 hours to be seen and finally gave up and went home. In the middle of that night the extreme pain returned we went to the ER a twenty mile drive checked in ( the place is emp... read more
If I was told in an ambulance that my odds of living were 50/50 by driving past Mercy of Mason City and going to a hospital 30 minutes farther away, I would take that risk. Mercy in Mason City is an absolute joke. Show up with a limb cutoff? Well it better be on ice and your Boy Scout training better be just good enough to stop the bleeding. Because you have a 5-hour wait at best before you're even seen by a nurse. There's a reason the majority of reviews are 1-star, and they almost got shut down by the state.
I had a simple surgery. The nurses, anesthesiologist & doctor were all very professional and kind. The surgery went smooth and the recovery time wasn't too bad. I would recommend.
The absolute worst medical care in both the doctor’s office and hospital. They don’t listen to you when you’re explaining what’s going on nor do they care. It’s all about money!!! For 8 months and 11,000 dollars later for office visits, test, and procedures they still don’t know why I have swelling in my neck, they just want to keep sending me to another doctor/specialist to see what they think.
