IF YOU have been neglected at this hospital & have suffered for it with proof like I have (recorded conversations of them lying & more without their consent as this a a ONE consent state), I would get a contingency lawyer & ask for help. You have 2 years to do it, I should have yet was too busy trying to get help with other medical issues or I would have. This is hard for me to rate. As not all medical staff was bad. But it only takes one to ruin the lot. One I called Nurse RACHET, from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. And that name fit. The place is very unorganized and their focus is make the place look good. I even said a few times without us the patients you have nothing. I was there 2 weeks and I could write a novel. My mother had a stroke and she was in for a week. The nurses and aides were amazing. The issue we had was the “hospitalist”. He was extremely condescending towards us. He didn’t want to listen to anything that we had to say. He never read the chart from the afternoon or evening before when he came in the mornings. My mother was asked to sign a paper saying she understood everything when she was discharged..she doesn’t remember anything. While the nurses and staff were amazing the organization of the hospice program was horrifying and awful my sister and were helping prepare 4 my dad to finish his final days at home they arranged for an ambulance to transport my father from waterloo to anamosa but before that could happen we were told we had to pick up three different drugs each one at different pharmacies we had to drive out of our way to a pharmacy in waterloo then cedar falls then marion..told a different pharmacy each time had to wait a half an hour each... read more

It was an amazing experience visiting Mercyone Medical Center today. Everyone was super nice, including all resident doctors, attending physician, nurses, and rest of the staff. Cafeteria had a delicious variety of food, drinks, and salad. The food is pretty cheap too. It was a quiet day at the hospital. Not a lot of patients may be due to the holiday season. Dr. Green is amazing. She toured us pretty much all the units, wards, as well as the emergency department. She was pretty thorough in explaining everything. Love it!
