My fiancé bought my engagement ring from Mervis, and we later returned together to buy wedding bands. The service started out great, and we love our rings. So pleased! I took my engagement ring in on a Monday to be resized. I needed it sized down 1.25 sizes. I was nervous because it is a channel set ring and I have heard they are difficult to resize. I also had a general fear that my ring wouldn't be safe wherever I took it to be resized. Well this place is safe. Very confused why anyone thinks two locked doors is a bad thing. My (now) fiancé and I went to Mervis to look at rings before our engagement so I could give him an idea of what kind of ring I preferred. I highly suggest making an appointment if you plan on going over the weekend because it can get busy. Upon arrival we were greeted and sat in a private room. After looking at engagement rings several times, I was ready to buy. I made an appointment with Dodi and received not one but two confirmation emails. On the day of--she didn't show up. Needless to say, I'll be going elsewhere.
I went shopping here for some jewelry for my S.O. I thought I should pop into Mervis since it was between two of the stores I was looking into, but I was sadly disappointed with what they offer. Firstly, the selection here is minimal. They tell you there's more in the back, but I can't imagine it's more impressive than what they have up front - and are there any other settings? If you choose to shop at Mervis, make sure to shop around and compare the quality and price of what you are buying--make sure you are comparing apples-to-apples. I went with girlfriends to try on engagement rings as they were going to relay my preferences to my boyfriend. I was excited to check out Mervis after reading great reviews, but I left with a large distaste for the jeweler. When we entered, a kind woman sat us in a room. My husband and I had a great experience with Miriam. She worked with our budget, understood our style, and had that special sales person quality that makes you feel taken care of! I love how she anticipated a number of desires and needs without us asking. Mervis seems to be a good retailer for budgets in between cheap and super expensive with a range of options. Good quality and service.
