Upgraded from old Canon Pixma This purchase was an upgrade for us from the old 8 year old Canon Pixma. It is fast and quiet will a good amount of features. Since we are beginning home schooling full time we needed the extra horsepower. Duplexing and larger sheet paper is nice - two sided option is seamless. It powers up nicely when needed. The installation was pretty easy to get all the household computers on it via wifi.
Despite what consumer Rorts says, this machine is mediocre at best. When our reliable, high quality,15 year old HP printer finally gave up the ghost, we decided on this one because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports. It works fine when printing documents, but it sucks at printing photos. The attached photo demonstrates what I mean. The actual photo is on the left and the print copy on the right. Very Happy. Easy to setup. The brother interface is nice. No issues connecting to wifi or printing from my devices. Very happy with this printer.
Brother Printer Working GREAT I bought this printer since I am currently working at home. It works perfectly. At first we had the issue of the wi-fi not reaching properly since modem is in an upstairs bedroom but, we bought the wi-fi pods from xfinity (our provider) and used them (3 of them for $100) as "bread crumbs" leading to the modem and now, we have no issues with the printer receiving the connection. Prints and scans as it is meant to. Have not used it for pictures, yet.
You can't go wrong with a brother product ever Like I said you can never go wrong with a brother product when it comes to fax machines printers Etc they've always made a good product I also own a 8280 model I have had for at least 13 years now go on the same toner imagine that. And that 82 ATS never let me down. Once it works flawless.
Works fine Not loud so far the wife happy it also keeps a heads clean that every 24 hours or so it cleans it. Works fine color looks good.

Impressive I purchased this for use in my insurance office. We do as much paperless as possible so we probably print 500-800 sheets a month. Most of the reviews were good but I had a few that concerned me. Thus far I have been impressed. It's quite, print quality is good and ink usage is pretty good. My last printer was a $150 unit that lasted 5 yrs. This one has some big shoes to fill. As far as durability I've only had it a couple of months so time will tell.
