Decent printer for home use.
We purchased this printer at work to replace our old Brother printer that died on us. It seemed like a great upgrade as it is the newer model. I apparently didn't read the description/product info close enough though as it does not duplex scan or copy and I use that feature a lot at work. It is quite time-consuming having to manually flip the pages while trying to scan or copy any documents that are double sided. It does duplex print which is nice. With the software, I have already had to uninstall and re-install it twice. I have come into work and certain features just won't work that day. I go through the normal steps to try and resolve the issue. If I am unable to resolve the issue, I call the tech support and they have been very helpful; however, it has resulted in a fresh start each time, which again is time-consuming while at work. I do like how quickly it prints compared to my old brother printer. The duplex is very fast and it hasn't jammed up at all really. All in all a decent printer, but not for an office setting that requires the duplex feature with multiple functions.

Solid printer/scan machine
REALLY REALLY GOOD OVERALL MACHINE. BROTHER QUAILTY CAN BE BEAT BY OTHER COMPETATORS.

I only have one bad thing to say. The instructions for enabling wifi and USB is complicated.

Wow! It is FAST!
We got this for me at my office to replace an older Brother model of the same thing. First of all, let me say it is FAST! And I mean REALLY FAST! Click print, there is a brief hum, and then ZOOP! Out spits your print! Set up was more complex than I had done before, but that is simply because it has more features than I am used to having. (And I was answering a busy phone and taking care of people coming in and out of the office whilst setting it up. So, that may have influenced my perceptions.) Really excited that we can print from Mobile devices! I took pics of the serial number and other info on the MFC and printed them from my iPhone for the file. Print quality is extremely clear! And, did I tell you it is fast? Even when duplex printing! Even when duplex printing on legal! The only thing I haven't found a way to overcome just yet is having to manually switch the paper type in the MP tray when I go from legal, to labels, to envelopes. It beeps and wants me to choose a new paper type. If anyone knows how to get past that, I would love to learn! I love that it is FAST!
