How often do you have a great experience at a doc-in-the-box? Well, I did! Thank you to Diana Poortenga, FNP-BC for being professional and thoughtful and explaining everything so well. Seriously, one of the best interactions I've ever had with the health care system.

**Warning, very long, but detailed review/rant- Went there back in March'25, had good medical treatment, quick and efficient.. After our insurance paid theirs part Midwest sent a statement reflecting the remaining amount--as they should. Check with payment in full, $254.xx was sent out, all being taken care of one month from time of service. HOWEVER, they charged our backup credit card on file, $150 the same day they cashed our check-2 weeks from date it was mailed. After seeing our card statement we found this discrepancy... read more

My wife visited the Clinic in June 2024, and received a bill in June 2025, more than a year later. We promptly paid the bill....then our next month's credit card came and they billed my card too----for the same amount. Called for a refund and the customer service person said it can take 90 days! Very disappointed in the billing methods, to the point that we will not likely use the Clinic again. Too bad, because we were otherwise really appreciative of their urgent service provided. We had a very disappointing experience with the Nurse Practitioner (or MD) who saw my family member. From the moment we arrived at 5:35 PM (they close at 6 PM), it was clear she was more concerned about the office hours than providing care. She didn't offer any advice or guidance and seemed unwilling to help. Instead of focusing on my family member's needs, she kept rushing him to urinate quickly because they were closing soon.
