This was the first time I've been here since they moved to Stonybrook. Since it was my birthday, I thought it would be a good opportunity to try them out again. How we determine if we like a restaurant or not, at the end of the meal we ask ourselves "Would we come back?" The answer for Mirabelle was "no" Liver pate was o.k. not great. Outstanding food, well-prepared and presented. Sunday night no corkage is a plus
We did not get to sit in the restaurant because it is only available during the weekends, so we sat in the tavern area, but they were very nice and gave us a quiet corner table by the fireplace. The staff were very pleasant, and the food was awesome. My husband raved about the scallops, and he wished he had ordered multiple plates of them, lol. They were Cooked and seasoned perfectly. Very intimate bed and breakfast type location right on the water. Went for date night and was not disappointed!
I come to Mirabelle Tavern very often as a Saint James resident, and the service and food have consistently exceeded my expectations. The ambiance of the tavern is casual and fun, and I love having a drink at the bar before heading to my table. The bartenders are always easy to talk to and attentive. The hummus is fantastic as an appetizer and the salmon is a great summer entree. The servers are always friendly and welcoming, and the manager's presence is always felt throughout. They have great music on the weekends too!!
Appetizers were absolutely amazing! We got the foie gras and the octopus dishes. For the entree we ordered the new York strip and the duck. They tasted as if an entirely different kitchen prepared these. The steak was undercooked and cold (the butter didn't melt on top at all) and the duck was very overcooked. The reason we didn't send anything back is because we both work in the industry and understand the pain. If anyone wanted to come for apps I say "go for it! They were great!". Always amazing place to eat and the food never disappoints. We will continue to go back again and again!!!
Service was top-notch, very accommodating Food and price did not match Food was not that good at all except for the pasta and avocado fritters The burgers and tuna were not good
