Cannot express my appreciation and gratefulness for Dr. Wong and the staff at this vet clinic. Dr. Wong was amazing. She took her time with me and Eddie to really sort out what was going on. She offered alternatives re: meds which were wonderful (chewy heart worm meds vs. trying to shove a pill down his throat). Eddie is 8lbs and good luck with pills and him! She introduced pill pockets, demonstrated their use and tried a 'dummy' one on Eddie. It was great! Approx. 1hr later - the bill? Incredibly reasonable. Highly recommen... read more
Concur with other posters, they are very professional. Only thing to add is that if you do anything out of the ordinary, I suspect you will pay a pretty large % more than clinics that aren't in as affluent a town as Lafayette. For example, a spay is a fairly simple procedure. At a highly rated clinic outside of Lafayette, the total cost is $277. At Mt Diablo? $820. (You can do a spay for as little as $150, btw.) Two of my best friends are longtime vets and they agree that $820 is a bit nuts. It's just the afflu... read more
When I first moved back to Lafayette I needed a vet ... well, *I* didn't but my pooch did. I thought this was the same vet that my family used growing up but it wasn't. At first I was a little disappointed, but then quickly realized I was super happy I made the mistake!! Both Dr. Hagler and Dr. Mattingly are GREAT!!! The office staff is wonderful too! Recently, my dog was attacked by another while we were walking on the bike trail in Walnut Creek and had to take her to the emergency vet clinic on Monument. The next mor... read more
Dr. Hagler is a wonderful vet. He explains everything carefully (even if he has to do it more than once!). He kept my very ill cat going for a long time, but unfortunately we ultimately lost him. We received flowers and a nice note from them. Minus one star for not offering us a less expensive option for dealing with our beloved kitty's remains. I highly recommend this vet. He is thorough, conscientious, and patient.
I moved out of the area where my longtime vet is. Since I needed to take my foster dog in for suture removal I called and got an appointment with Dr. Mattingly. Upon arrival at Mt. Diablo Veterinary Medical Center I could tell I was going to like them. Now I loved my previous vet and had been going to him for many years but his office staff, while friendly, left much to be desired. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The vet tech was equally great and Dr. Mattingly was wonderful. She did a nice exam and took o... read more
I'm glad to know that there is such a great vet practice here in Lafayette! After taking my cats to one of the other vets in town, it was obvious from the first visit that they were very professional and knew what they were doing. I love the fact that the office is very clean and quiet and you have the feeling that you are the only client that they are focused on when you are there. Definitely great if you want a place that is organized and a staff that is polite and knowledgeable! Best place in town!
Dr Hagler is an extraordinary veterinarian. Talented, kind, and passionate about his work, I cannot imagine a better vet for my family's beloved pets. Eight years ago, my labrador retriever was poisoned by snail bait from a neighbors garden. I had no idea that she had eaten something while we were walking and so did not know she had been poisoned until she went into convulsions. I was absolutely sure she would die, but Dr Hagler pulled out the stops to save her life. Today she is a very happy and healthy twelve year old and... read more
Our border collie got a UTI while we were on vacation, and needed a follow up visit after completing his dose of antibiotics. Our pet sitter happens to be a vet at ARF, and she recommended we go here and see Dr. Mattingly. The clinic itself is nice, and kept clean. Dr. Mattingly was great, and took care of the tests needed to do our pup's check up.She also advised us on some other issues, and was very helpful. When I got the bill, it was nice to see his overall examination was free, and we only had to pay for lab/test work... read more
This vet saved my cat's life, and my bank account. After having been extremely disappointed with the "service" I was finding elsewhere for my very sick cat, and needing to find the least expensive but best treatment possible, I ended up finding the answers at this vet hospital. Dr. Hagler is wonderful, and so obviously cares about the animals he treats. He is so thorough and attentive, and he, unlike other vets, did not just try to get my money. These people are honest and kind. Can't recommend them enough!!
