Prices I went to the practice today, as my front tooth filling that I had received there less than year ago, had fallen out. I had paid approximately £130 for the filling. After having my £59 check up,....was told that to replace the filling that cost £130 less than a year ago, was now going to cost £264!!!!! And I had to have a £100 dental hygienist appointment, even though at the examination, the dentist said that my dental hygiene was very good!!! Why has the filling price more than doubled??? Hi Vicki, On review of your comments I would advise that you contact the practice and go through your signed treatment plan with them as the charge is for a different tooth than the one you had replaced originally. Unfortunately, we had to take the difficult decision to increase our private dental fees in January. The costs of delivering dentistry have continued to rise and to ensure that we can continue to provide dentistry to our patients, we do need to account for these additional costs. No dentists I've been trying to get a check up for myself and 15 Yr old daughter I've been registered there for over 23yrs I've been trying since 2020 only to be told there are No dentists at this practice only a locum and to call back in 6 months time ,so I do then only to be told try again in 6 months time ..been doing this for 3 yrs now but never get given a reason why they haven't taken any new dentists on !!?, The only answer I get is call a certain number and I will get seen but I have to pay privately!!! Unfortunately, recruitment of dentist’s post pandemic is proving extremely difficult.
