Awesome even without the vessel. I bought this for a vessel that was never installed. I dropped it into my skimmer it fits perfectly. I run it for a few hours and that is it. I take it out then the pool chlorine level will stay exact perfect almost for about 4 weeks. Then I put it in again. I use 1/10 the chlorine. Only real issue you will have. If you put in chlorine. Your levels will NOT go down. So if your level is at about 3. Leave it a lone. Otherwise you will get a pool stuck at 5 for a few weeks.
