My experience with New Directions Mental Health has been very disappointing. I have been with this practice for over six months and have had a change in my psychiatrist twice. Currently, New Directions has decided to discontinue my care now that my second psychiatrist has left the practice. Prior to this, communication was extremely unprofessional. I really enjoy working with Christina Fremer. She is knowledgeable, experienced and well educated. Grateful to finally have a crisis plan and a treatment plan in place. She gives great advice and doesn’t just sit there staring at me. She takes notes and she sets goals. She recognized my PTSD immediately and addressed the fears that cause my anxiety. My NP Dawne is very good. However, often when I have changes in my meds, it’s a nightmare trying to get them filled. They take at least 3 days to respond to voicemails about pharmacy issues, and often their response is not helpful so I have to leave another message and wait another 3+ days for an answer, so sometimes it takes weeks to get my meds filled, and they don’t care if you run out. The staff here really go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. They always return my calls within an hour and genuinely care that they leave each patient feeling satisfied and taken care of. Anyone seeking mental health treatment with a provider and or therapist should definitely make New Directions in McMurray their number one choice! I just wish I found this practice YEARS ago.
Awful! Since they switched from Psychiatric Care Systems to New Directions the service has been horrible. They cancel appointments at the last minute, then make you wait months for a new appointment. Ignore FDA warnings about tapering medications and let patients deal with withdraw symptoms. Won't return phone calls. Say to use the website, but never respond to that either.
