I came to North Port Behavioral Health Center 4-17-2025, and discharged on 4-24-2025. I was a broken human. I have PTSD, MDD, ADHD, and had a failed self inflicted attempt to leave this world the day before I was admitted. It was rock bottom for me. North Port Behavioral Health Center WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. This was the best (by far) mental health treatment I have ever received. North Port and surrounding areas NEED this kind of treatment. My son was recently admitted to North Port Behavioral Health, and our experience with the facility was deeply concerning. Although he presented with significant mental health needs, the focus of his care appeared to be primarily on alcohol use, with minimal attention to his psychiatric condition. I spoke privately with one of the social workers and specifically requested confidentiality; however, she disclosed our conversation to my son and told him that "people on the outside are trying to keep you in here." if I could give zero stars to this facility, I would. The administrative staff, including the nurse manager, social worker, and receptionist have been completely inadequate. My loved one has been there for several days and has yet to be seen by a physician. This is unacceptable. Avoid this facility at all cost. If you have insurance, be cautious, they appear to be more focused on maximizing billing days then providing timely care. Please do your research before trusting your loved one to Dr. Suresh R. Sarma. My daughter went in voluntarily, asking for help. What we thought would be a supportive, healing environment quickly turned into a nightmare. Within moments of meeting her, this doctor made drastic decisions without understanding her history or listening to her concerns.
