I have had a great experience with NorthEast HealthCARE, I went there about 10 years ago and it was great , I’ve now gone back for therapy and it’s gone well so far. I would recommend this place to anyone trying to be serious about getting sober and staying sober!
Miscommunication is constant; they either do not send a notification reminder at all, or send you 3 or 4 notifications the same day a week ahead your appointment. Bills/charges are unclear. The phone box is erratic: you never know if they are going to answer your messages, if you are able to leave a message because the phone is always busy.
Seemed to good to be true at first. The staff is unreliable and can be rude at times. I would not expect a mental health business to be showing inappropriate rap videos on the waiting room tv, I have nothing against the music just the over glorification of drug use, inappropriate language and womanizing visuals is not something I want to watch while waiting for an appointment, NSFW, should be something calming or pleasant, if you want to pass time with your own music then listen to it quietly at your desk. I had a telehealth consultation with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Regina Macharia in May. She joined the call late, left her cell phone ringer on which made noises throughout our call, and told me that she would not be refilling a prescription that I had from a past doctor because she "does not prescribe benzodiazepines, as they're very addictive." She didn't seem to care about when I was first prescribed them or why, nor the evidence showing that I was prescribed them PRN and use them very rarely. Instead, she prescribed ... read more
The staff is very friendly, and the therapist that I see is very kind and is willing to listen to what I needed to say. I also didn't have to wait long.
