Better off renting from Rudd who are not scummy and have integrity who will treat you fairly.
Recently stayed at 14U with a couple friends. With a 9am checkout and 4pm check in (absolutely no flexibility) due to Covid cleaning one would expect the house to be clean. While I realize Feb is their off season, I did not expect to find a dead roach waiting for us, crumbs in the fridge, dirty / stained towels, dirty socks & dead bugs under the bed. Canceled a booking less than 24 hours of check in time. My whole family prepared for months to get time off for a weeks vacation in October 2020. Only to be told as we were packing to leave that the house was not available. The alternative houses were insufficient for us and the refund took a long time to get.
After using OIA for several years we had a bad week this past July at Stingwray Cove. The place was full of fleas and no one came to spray after several requests and then waiting in the home all day (twice) for them, losing two invaluable beach days with my family. We paid a pet fee only for our dog to end up with tapeworms due to being bitten so many times. Still waiting on return phone call that was promised in July. Have continued to leave messages for person I actually spoke with then and as of today and 3 messages, still no return call in reference to numerous issues during week of June 4th vacation.
RecommendedWe’ve stayed at beach houses rented via Oak Island Accommodations every summer since 2011 and we have always had a great experience. We have been very happy with the homes we’ve rented over the years. We have rarely had any trouble with the homes we have rented. They’re always quick to remediate any issue.
We had a wonderful time in June. Everything was clean and we had no worries! The only thing is that I thought the house was going to be a little bigger by looking at the pictures but we made it work!! We will definitely use them again.
Easy check in and check out process. Use of the WiFi was quick and the directions were easy to follow. Beach front property was very nice. Plenty of space and bathrooms. Kitchen had all the amenities.
