things change on a dime and we left Saturday... that same Saturday we discovered that i had forgotten my headphones (not solid gold BUT $100.00) called and left a voicemail for accommodation and cleaning; didn't get a response for a few days. then when we did get a response we were told that the owners were in the house and would contact them to get the headphones. well a few MORE days passed and my wife had to follow up with them. they claimed that the owners found nothing and that there was nothing more that they could do... read more
Do not stay at Barefoot Children as there is an activity construction zone 10 feet from house. No privacy and having stayed with Oak Island Accommodations before - shocked management does not care about noise.
See post on main page - After a 9 hour drive to #BriefRelief on Oak Island the house hadn't even been touched by the cleansing crew - they got a speeding ticket on their way we were told. I sure hope the owners of #BriefRelief realize their rental company has pathetic customer service! House was to be ready for check in at 3pm I think 100% of vacationing folks except the rental to be ready! Will be holding back payment - unacceptable!
Our experience with Oak Island Accomodations was terrible. We have reached out via several methods...in person complaint to office, voicemail, guestbook review, email and Facebook Messenger. All have been ignored. The property we rented was misrepresented and was VERY dirty when we arrived. The hot tub did not function properly the entire time we were there and we had to work with the hot tub maintenance guy on several occasions (he was very nice) which is not an ideal vacation activity. We rented at beautiful house, Plenty of Fish last year July 10-17, 2016. We left it clean and in order. On our way home I received an email falsely accusing us of "damaging and tearing apart a lovely home". The manager said we broke into the owners closets, rearranged pictures and furniture even taking a grill from the kitchen porch two floors down to the outside shower and damaging the pool. After being a 12 year customer we will never use oak island accommodations again. My 1 year old grandson was injured in the bath tub of a home by a loose stainless steel shower head. It feel from the holder it was in and hit him in the face causing his skin to split open right under his left eye. We spent the night in the ER at dosher and when finally left after consulting several surgeons we decided to take him home to KY for plastic surgery. We had 2 trips to Oak Island this year, the first one was at Coastal Breeze, we have stayed there before, Love this home, that is why we return. But in June there was some construction was just finished, We changed our dates , we were arriving the week before but cancelled due to kidney surgeries I had to have after my son graduated Hgh School, so this trip was important.
