Too bad I can't give negative rating, since I would. Not only did we have to spend our first day in OKI on the phone because our vacation rental was beyond disgusting, we then had to endure the rest of our vacation in a house that was infested with cockroaches and ants and had numerous leaks. No response to my follow up email to oak island accommodations once we concluded our vacation. Guess they got our money and now won't even return an email, pretty sad. Well, I am writing this from the back deck as I'm getting eaten alive by these sand fleas (not their fault). Our house was supposed to be ready by 3. It's not. I'm sitting here, 8 months pregnant and miserable with whiny kids. All I want to do is take a shower and a nap. I'm a very understanding, easy going person, but to tell people who just drove 12 hours that they have to wait hours past check in, is not acceptable. No apology, no offer to make it right. Karen Frazier We arrived on Aug 20th 2016 to find that it had not been cleaned since who knows when? Gritty, sandy, filthy floors just for starters. The AC on the main level was not working. Second year in a row we have had a Saturday check in and arrived at 4 to find the house not been cleaned. Pool nasty. We are currently standing outside waiting on someone to clean. It is 6:17pm been here since four, outside. No offer to make this right except, we are busy. We have 6 kids outside. Ages 2-12. This is not the way to do business. The owners will be informed of the poor experience at their house.

WORST customer service we've experienced in our 30 years of renting vacation homes. The house we rented, "Point of View," was filthy, uncleaned, and infested with FLEAS (despite being a "no pets" property). Their solution was to send a guy over with a can of flea spray. We explained that this was not an option for us, as we have a baby and two other young children, one with chemical sensitivities. Families vacationing with young children - please read. On our last full day (Friday) of our weeklong trip, we woke up to 4 Palmetto bugs (the cute word for roach) in our condo. 3 of them were about 1.5-2 inches long - huge. The 4th was a bit smaller and was found in my 2 year old daughter's bed. 4th visit in last 7 years. This is the second time we've been VERY disappointed with the maintenance on the properties. This year, after a few calls and a visit, we get given a 5% discount!!! The roof has leaked in the master bedroom, dining room, living room and bedroom. 3 visits from the contractor to put a tarp over roof. Broken stove top. Leaky faucet. Rusted porch. Worst rental experience ever. House was in horrible condition. Including damage to bathrooms, broken dishwasher, dyer didn't work, mold growing in the living room, and holes in the ceilings. Will never rent or recommend this company again!

We have been using Oak Island Accommodations for almost 20 years… anytime we had a problem they were ON IT. After all sh** happens everywhere. One time we used "the other" rental agency and never again! We love OKI and hope to return again! We definitely trust Oak Island Accommodations with our family's vacations! They are a 5 Star operation! The reps are so helpful and are there when ever you need to know anything! Thanks OIA!
