Billing department is absolutely terrible. Had an accumulated bill, no big deal, got on payment plan with OC. Then OC sent to collections- annoying, but fine. Confirmed with multiple OC billers, including a family member that works there, our bill was at $0, all sent to collections. Paid off the Bonneville bill after a few months. Was then sent another bill from Ogden Clinic (less than $200; mind you we were confirmed NO BALANCE at OC) for something my husband had been seen for well over a YEAR AGO. Truly the worst billing department in all of history. They are QUICK to send you to collections over anything no matter how small the amount is. I set up a payment plan with them and then all of a sudden I get an email that it was cancelled. I checked my account and my new balance was $0, I called and they told me they sent my bill to collections even though I was actively paying the payments on my payment plan. I switched providers to Intermountain.
I received several EOBs from my insurance over three weeks ago stating that all my claims have finalized, and have called Ogden Clinic several times to verify that they received payment from my insurance and get my due refund from a prepayment I made for surgery. No urgency at all, just "we have to keep waiting". I asked if someone could call my insurance, but was told no. Not much interest at all in helping.
After 15 years we changed providers to avoid Ogden Clinic. Ogden Clinic accepts our insurance, but constantly illegally balance bills when they provide services before getting valid authorizations or fail to submit claims properly. We pay copays and do not have a deductible. The billing office is centralized and refuses to work with their own providers or contracted insurers.
