I recently had to call an extermination company to remove some unwanted guests from my home. I called Orkin in Chesterfield and was very pleased with both representatives that came to my house. The inspection Rep. was named Matt and was more than willing to answer any questions I had for him, regardless of how redundant or abnormal. We hired them for two locations of our business for moth control. After a few months and almost $2,000 in charges they didn't find any moths. I found that odd since I supplemented their traps with my own cheap Chinese traps. My cheap traps were catching loads of moths. When I confronted them about this, they acknowledged that they had been using the wrong traps. They offered to give me 1 free month. If I could give Orkin a 0 I would . I scheduled an appointment with Orkin on Friday , for the following Friday since that was the soonest they would be able to come out . The following Friday was the Friday before Labor Day weekend . I received the confirmation that someone would be out to service my house between 12pm-5pm. We called orkin to spray around our house for ants. they came out to spray but said they couldn't spray behind bushes because they couldn't get back there with their equipment on their back. That was ridiculus! There was plenty of room. A salesman came to check the house for rodents. He recommended caulking around the whole house. We agreed. Meanwhile the ants were back a week later. When the inspector and technician came to my house, the technician did a good job placing the traps. The inspector stated what needed to be done. However then the inspector told me where to sign and initial on their phone and tablet. She did not say what I was signing, we never discussed the price of their service, the length of their, service, or the length of the contract. initially called about a large critter in my attic, the company ensured they'd be able to handle the situation. They came by and laid some measly home depot style mouse traps and sprayed for bugs which I never inquired about. they automatically signed me up for some mosquito program I also never asked about that I had to cancel. first guy told me they would install a one way door and seal any openings in the house. 3 months and 3 visits later, they come by for 5 minutes to check some tiny mouse traps and spray for the bugs ... read more

I had an orkin tech for the Southfield area q come out regarding our carpenter ants. Where is the customer service? No verbal skills. Took him to the basement where the wood shavings were. He looked at it in amazement. I asked if this is what he would normally see with carpenter ants. No answer. I asked him his name and introduced my husband and myself.
