Took my mom here after an incident earlier in the day. Went in and asked for help to get her out of the vehicle and inside and the receptionist was very off-putting, cold in demeanor and to be blunt, very unfriendly and made me want to take my mom elsewhere. Everyone else seemed to be very nice and helpful but that receptionist should not be the first point of contact for any business let alone a hospital!
Last night 01/13 a medical situation required an ER visit. The weather was very bad and deteriorating fast. Two or three minutes after we arrived at the check-in station, we were called into the triage nurse's room for information to be shared about treatment that I required. From there I was lead into an ER treatment room and the late shift prepped me and got things going promptly. They were very busy yet I felt like I was their only patient. “Scary Perry”. Name change to OSF DID NOTHING FOR ITS REPUTATION. THAT still lingers on. At Primary Care Office when he called to admit patient. Arrived at Parry about an hour later. Registration & ER claimed no knowledge. Doc walked in.. backed out. Walked back in spent about oh 3 minutes or less with us. Said he had no info why we were here. Walked back out. Great staff, the nurse Janelle made sure I understood what was going on, offered great tips, great facility. The Dr. was smooth and cool as well.
I live in Atlanta and going to an ER out-of-state can be scary and upsetting. However, the doctor, nurse, and staff were so kind, professional and helpful! I'm very grateful to the team at OSF Saint Clare's Emergency Room for their wonderful care.
