On a July 4 weekend, I shorted a light fixture, which tripped multiple breakers, cutting off all power to the house, which has solar panels and a backup battery. On the phone, Mr. Owens asked me to send photos of the installation, said he would not be able to do anything for the battery, and that the holiday flat charge would be $500. I assented.
