I'm unsure if this company is a scam. I signed up my business two months ago, and the first payroll payment went through successfully. However, for the second payment, I received instructions from the agent asking me to wire money into an account before they could pay my workers. I found this very odd, so I called my bank to stop all payments and change my banking information. Customer service has been horrible; I haven’t been able to reach anyone for the past three days. Paychex has really changed they hold your claims forever now even when you submit documents to support your claims. In there own words they say when you submit your claims they have three days to process your claims not for me !!!! And when you ask to speak to a supervisor they busy or another call never get call back to-even try to resolve anything.Money was taken from my 2024 account to pay a 2025 claim so when I tried to submit a claim for 2024 it was denied due to insufficient funds???? Hands down the worst payroll company ever. We received a certified letter from the IRS for my unpaid payroll taxes from last year, threatening to seize our assets. Paychex has failed to pay them, even though they took the money.
If I could leave a negative star review I would. Paychex has been an absolute nightmare to work with as a business owner. They only care about the initial sale and then leave you high and dry. They don’t want to help and expect you to handle everything yourself. We were given multiple account reps who never returned your calls or emails. I would run as fast and as far away from Paychex as you possibly could
If I could give 0 stars I definitely would! I am so glad that we no longer use this company! I still have access to login and view certain details, but can no longer access check stubs, wage information, etc. Why can't I see information that I provided? Just because we found a better payroll company to use? I had to chat a BOT to get to a real person on chat, to get a 1st name only and # for my Paychex rep.
