We have had at least 3 instances of working with Pekin. Twice on our house and didn’t get the help we needed. We had hail damage but it couldn’t be proven or something to that affect. We had water damage to our front porch actually ruining inside walls but again they don’t pay it. Car totaled 6/17/22. Still have not received payment. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Still have not received $1000 deductible they took off from car total reimbursement. Other insurance accepted full liability. Pekin gets back their money. I haven’t gotten back mine. Get the run around when I call. And raised my premium over a $100 a month. I’m not the at fault driver.
In well over 30 years of coverage with little to no claims, my mother's insurance on her mobile home was dropped following 2 weather-related claims nearly 2 years apart - the derecho and a tornado. Absolutely pathetic way to treat a long-term customer.
I would under no circumstances advise you to use this company. You pay Normal to Higher premiums and then get in one little accident and they come up with every excuse under the sun as to why they can't cover something that clearly got damaged in the accident. I carry insurance for this exact reason, to get damage fixed by paying my deductible and no more out of pocket expenses to fix what was obviously damaged on the vehicle in the collision.
