Rating: 4.0 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a pleasant experience working with PennyMac on refinancing of my home loan. They were able to match the interest rate offered by competition. The closing process was also pretty smooth. The only disappointment was the number of follow ups I had to do with PennyMac to ensure they got the details from the title company which I wanted PennyMac to use and the Pay off amount from my existing mortgage refinance company. I missed 3 closing dates, spoke w/ a dozen people in the organization, and it was suggested that I bring $22k-$98k to close, a large expanding variable? The appraisal was disastrous on a dozen accounts: photos of another house, comps (3) all in a different neighborhood, site value, sqft of lot and home were incorrect, exterior material is wood - not brick, listed having an asphalt driveway - no driveway on property… My realtor presented 29 comps in the neighborhood in question and were provided, with 4 empty lots too, bu... read more
I had a very good experience with my refinance. It was made a pleasant and very stress free experience.
This refinance was for a divorce settlement that was my wife's portion of the equity in said property. The title company treated the refinance as strictly a cash pay out dividing my wife's equity between the both of us incorrectly.
This was my 2nd mortgage with Penny Mac - I have been very pleased with my experience both times.
