Xavier was really good at communicating all along the process. Either by phone call or email, expectations were clearly communicated to me. I very much appreciated being kept up to speed, particularly at a time when lenders are very backed up due to the demand and closings are taking longer than expected. PennyMac provided a nice, easy close to my refinance. Overall, I am happy with the results.

Faster processing of loans, it should not take three months to close

The lower score on the timeframe was due to COVID so beyond Jacob's control. Overall, I thought he did a good job of communicating and handling things during a very hectic time. The main suggestion that I would offer to improve the overall experience was to improve the overall process for getting & maintaining documents. I felt that we were asked for the same documents multiple times because different teams needed them (maybe for security reasons?).

Took 4 months to close from when I applied. There was no communication from a month & a half from anyone at Penny Mac. I was often left in the dark as to where my application was in the process. Once I finally got introduced to Jacob, he did call me a few times to keep me up to date (think we started talking in late October). But from the application writer to Jacob, there was no communication.

Aside from the Republican botched pandemic affecting the closing period, things went well and I would highly recommend PennyMac.

I was asked for documents through email. Never were they put into the Loan Detail portal. My closing date was supposed to be in the beginning of November didn't close until December. The first time the people came for me to sign the closing cost were almost $4,000 more then what i was told they would be 3 days earlier. I Used PennyMac because that is who had my current mortgage thinking that it would make the process easier but it was not. Not sure I will use PennyMac to refi again.

Mr. Staples performance needs to be reviewed. I had made numerous attempts to contact him. He either did not answer or return my call. All others involved in the process were great, to include the contracted notary.
