Refinance two of my homes 1 got denied 1 approved doesn't make sense..I just closed on approval....
Lauren Aslin was great; she was prompt and was available for any calls. My issue is with the website. First, it seems there are two websites to upload documents; I could log into both, but they had different user interfaces. Also, whenever I received emails asking for documents, the websites said no docs were needed until I checked a few days later. The websites also required decent computer literacy to navigate and I'm concerned that many homeowners might not know what to do.
WORKED WELL
The lady kept telling me that me and my wife needed to sign the eDisclosures for the loan even though she was not on the loan. The penny mac lady put the responsibility on me to call back and forth to support to figure it out myself saying “none of her other clients had this issue”. After multiple calls to support and other numbers it was determined she just didn’t know about the new system. Getting in contact with anyone was slow and difficult. Call backs would take days, or not at all
We were supposed to close at the end of October originally but our documents must have fallen through the cracks and they had to restart the process all over again. I was originally told I would receive what was in the escrow account since we were putting a new escrow account into our loan and I haven't seen that yet so I'm not sure if that's actually happened or not. I sent a message about it and did not get a response. Otherwise, everybody was very nice.
The entire process was seamless. Great job.
Had Barbara been my point of contact from beginning of process to conclusion, it would have ran smoother, the initial reps were not good. Also the closing costs were extremely high
Better communication is needed.
Couldn't ask for a smoother refinance from start to closing!!! Highly recommend
