Process was slow took over 8 wks. Finance Team told my originating loan person they would not match my Loan Disclosure Document from a competitor which was a better rate offer because I didn’t lock in the rate offer and time had expired. I didn’t lock it in because I was being a loyal customer to Penny Mac .... whoever on the Finance Team made that decision is not very customer supportive. I was informed needed 2 forms of ID & 2 witnesses to be present for my Loan Closing 24 hours before it.
The start of the process with Brandon was great. As the loan process proceeded ending up with Kyle, it all went downhill. The unprofessional emails, lack of communication and disinterest in explaining any questions that were asked about the closing process. The first time, the “company/ Kyle” cancelled my closing which was never communicated to me, I was informed by the notary when I inquired. The second and third closing took two weeks each with minimal communication from Kyle. Poor PR.
The appraiser sent by Pennymac created an appraisal full of inaccuracies and falsehoods. He also used 6 month-old comps nearly 3 miles away, when there were 2 & 3 month old comps next door and across the street from me. I was promised by my first loan processor, Lisa, that the issue would be investigated and corrected if needed, but no follow-up ever occurred. Also, I was initially given a projected closing date that was a full month before the actual closing occurred.

PennyMac worked with me the entire time I was traveling, and setup the closing in another state.
The closing took a little longer because of lawyer availability of a closing lawyer do to COVID-19. But other than that everything went great.

The docusign wasn't working and no one could figure out why. There was no office to do paperwork for closing documents. The notary was just that and couldn't answer any questions we had.
