Efficiency and friendly.
My initial process with Merrill Von Bargen was the best. Merrill was very patient and knowledgeable. She made me feel comfortable with the process. When Merrill handed me over to Xavier, I felt that Xavier was someone that I could appreciate as well. This refinance process was scary however, Merrill and Xavier made it easy. Thank you.
We were told contradicting information from Mr. Eric Lewis and Mr. Xavier Moya. When I would ask for clarification on items on the closing disclosure Mr. Moya would state that he is not qualified to answer my questions and try to get someone else to call me later to answer my questions. Most of the time I would not receive a phone call from anyone else, therefore I would not get my questions answered. This delayed the process by weeks. It was very frustrating.
Every agent were great at explaining how to navigate the system. I explained that I was not 100% using my iPad. Very pleasant experience with all of the agents.

The process took longer than expected. Carmelita did a good job at communicating weekly and asking us for whatever documents were needed. The problems all occurred at the end. The final documents included the escrow. We did not want the escrow and we still do not know why things did not match the preliminary documents that were correct. It took endless emails and phone calls to her manager and other agents to get them corrected which spanned over 5 days.
Molly was great. She always called back even if it was a day later. Confusion was she was giving us directions and we received packets with no direction from Jake the loan officer which were different. He never responded to our calls. We thought since we already had a penny Mac loan it would be a breeze to refinance. No! Also loan officer never disclosed upfront that the rate he quoted verbally had points involved. It wasn’t until we were well into a 2 hr verbal application we were informed.
