Great service with my home purchase!
Super easy from start to finish. I had a quote from a friend that seemed high. I spoke with PennyMac and they saved me a ton and put money in my pocket. Best experience ever.
Document uploading to the portal didn't work very well
I was asked multiple times for the same documents. I would send emails and get zero response. I was told my closing cost would be close to my monthly payments. I I received 5 different closing documents. The original one was 4 times my monthly payment. I was scheduled to close on a Sunday. So that Friday I called at least 10 times and emailed in between those calls, no response. I needed my closing cost to get a check. I was given one number, when the notary showed it, it was of course higher.
The closing documents had different amounts for my monthly loan payment on at least 3 pages. Aida seemed to be very dry and impersonal when speaking with her. Aida told me it would take 60 days to close on my loan when all the documentation requested from me and the loan quote were received prior to 30 days. I asked her to transfer me to her manager and the manager did not return my call.
There was never a single bit of communication between myself and Jason the was closed loop. I sent multiple emails with questions for clarification or otherwise that were completely ignored. After more than 2 months with no closing, I finally contacted him and Eric Everett to ask if the deal was still going to be honored since the rate lock timeframe had expired. First closing disclosures were incorrect, we had to reschedule. I am still having comm problems with Jason - too much more to add..
The whole process was simple and required little of my time.
At the start of the process communication was often & expectations clearly stated. Was told I would receive weekly updates on progress. Updates did not always happen which lead to concern & uncertainty. Totally dislike the use of the portal. Found statuses confusing...was never sure whether I needed to submit something. Several times I submitted information in response to email requests and found no one bothered to check that it was received. Overall experience was rather frustrating.
Aida was the person I could talk to when I had question about anything with refinance process. She was always courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and best of all returned all phone calls promptly. She is one of the best representatives I have worked with in any situation.
