The communication was always off. I would call and then be put on hold for around 10-15 minutes then would have to leave a voicemail and get a call back at least a day or two later. Emails were also extremely slow in response.

The process felt clearly delineated and I was able to get my questions answered promptly. The refinance went according to the timeline I was indicated as well. Overall this experience was positive and I would recommend Penny Mac as a lender.

Contact person needs to be better educated about finance. Asked me for information that I had already sent. Questioned our cash reserves when we had well over $600,000 in cash in our TDAmeritrade accounts. Need a path around contact person (gatekeeper) to other specialists they may be able to answer my question. When I finally was referred to the escrow department in a couple of minutes that person was able to resolve my issues and we immediately moved forward from that point.

Having people on the same team actually communicate with each other would have made this a million times better. No one was on the same page and paid attention to the notes and requests documented by other people within Penny Mac. Makes it very hard for customer/client to refer anyone to them, would not want anyone to have to go through 3 months of lack of communication like we did.

No calls or emails back. Closing was not properly fixed and still waiting on calls. Not good service and do not advise using.
