It was smooth but the closing window took long. Other than that it was perfect.
-The loan closed much later than I was originally told without explanation -I was told we would not need an appraisal, however I received multiple messages asking me to schedule an appraisal until I called back and asked them to stop. -I specifically requested emails instead of calls, multiple times, because I am not likely to answer calls from mysterious 1-866 numbers. This was ignored and I continued to receive voicemails instead. -Our signing date of 10/6 was moved without notice (on 10/6)
All personnel I interacted with at every stage of this loan processing were extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to work with!
Our closing date was pushed 3 times due to Justen. He repeatedly asked for documents that we had already given him. He repeatedly asked for rent documentation for a home that we owned previously (and that mortgage had also been with PennyMac). We told him by phone and email at least four times between Sept 3rd and Sept 17th, that we had owned the home that he wanted d the appraisal a week prior to closing, despite the fact that we had already paid for the appraisal ahead of then.

I requested a phone call to review hud1, never got a call. Closing dates changed 3 times my contact person changed a couple of days before closing and I was told I had to get a certified check or do a wire transfer an hour or so before closing. It was to my understanding I could have submitted a personal check. Seemed very unorganized.
More communication throughout the process. I did not hear anything for two weeks regarding the application. I had emailed two times and never received a response back. Very disappointed in the communication, but impressed with how quickly and easy the refinance was.
