Michael Kramer and Gina Merritt were very knowledgeable and professional from start to finish. I did not have any issues dealing with them. Gina was very polite, helpful and detailed with all my inquiries. She’s truly an asset to the company. Because of my positive experience with them I have recommended PennyMac to my friends and co-workers!
Great process
I felt like the communication was excellent starting with my first contact to PennyMac to inquire about refinancing. I understood my tasks and PennyMac processed things on their end within a timely manner. Ryan was helpful in getting my flood insurance increased by his contact to my insurance agent and providing the information my agent needed to secure the increased coverage. I like doing business with PennyMac .
The closing disclosure I received prior to the notary showing up at my door was not accurate. I found that $13500 was being withheld because of taxes. The first tax payment is not due until 11/15 20. I am not happy with my money being held for several months without being informed in advance. In addition I do not like giving over the use of my money for several months while I am charged interest calculated on a daily basis in the closing cost details. The process of refinancing our home loan with PennyMac was a good experience. However, I did not like the 3rd party loan closer. He 'demanded' that I wear a face mask instead of asking me politely. It is MY house and I could have setup an eight foot table as well as wear the mask. I did sanitize the chair and table portion that he used after he left my home.
It was not stressful, but took a long time ,but we were updated every week ,so I would recommend Penny Mac to everyone !
I requested a digital copy of my closing paperwork and never received it. I called and called and never got a reply. I emailed as well and no reply. Another reason why I am unlikely to refer penny mac is the high fees to close
Easy people to work with and good communication with lender. Possibly easier because we already had our loan with Penny Mac !
We refinanced our existing PennyMac loan and signed papers in a timely manner. 3-4 weeks later we were notified of a problem with the paperwork. It took an additional 3-4 weeks to get new papers signed. Two signing appointments were canceled and we were not notified ahead of time. There were multiple issues with the title company and various other people not knowing how to do their job. If it had not been for Drew Schmelig and his communication with us we would have gone with another company.
