I was very happy that PennyMac offered a match on the refinance terms for my home. I also found both reps that I spoke with (Jane and Faiza) to be friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated their time and commitment to the process.

Just felt like the closing process wasn’t communicated. She said I could wire the money but no help at closing with how to wire or a timeline for how long I had until I could wire the money.
My responses are not fair to Jenny as she was amazing to work with. My issues was how I was lied to by another PennyMac Rep when Jenny took a day off and just ruined my experience. Then no one could tell me what my actual closing costs would be as it swung by $1,500. So at the end of the day I enjoyed working with Jenny and that is the only reason why I am saying I had a great experience. seems there are internal issues with PennyMac that are very obvious and hinders Jenny from excelling.

A phone conversation would have been extremely helpful. The communication was very lacking. Too many people handling the loan process. All the papers requested from us was delivered within a week yet it took months to close to which it caused some requested docs to expire through no fault of us. Extremely disappointed in the whole process.
The overall refinance process took way too long and it was overly complicated with the amount of information needed even though PennyMac has held our mortgage for almost a year before we refinanced. Several emails I sent went unanswered. We had to schedule our closing three times, which is unacceptable. The first two times we were simply blow off, no call, no show. No apology or acknowledgment for wasting our time. We were almost at the point of looking at other lenders for refinancing. Just ok.
Great customer service, returned calls same day if not next day, process was easy to follow and understand, knowledgeable staff and refi was quick.
