I am neutral. I think PennyMac does a good job, just not great. Someone great has my back. They do a good job of explaining lots of things, but I would prefer more on how the process works (At a high level), for example what are all the costs associated (why they are necessary and where the money is going), why would I rate lock (what is the risk and what is the risk level in the current economy), and I would even go as far as doing a amortization break down. More info = better decision making

PennyMac took 68 days to close of escrow while competitors advertised 20 days. It probably would still not be closed without my escalation to a VP. My loan never seemed to be a priority for the loan processor, even the day prior to close of escrow. The Closing Disclosure was sent to me 4 hours prior to signing. The signing agent came with incorrect paperwork based on a previous Closing Disclosure. PennyMac should be embarrassed by their lack of knowledge regarding properties held in trust.

You can start by communicating with your customers and let us know how the loan is progressing and an estimated timeline for completion. We absolutely did not receive "weekly" updates and did not receive decent communication until after we complained. We actually got to the point where we were ready to back out of the deal altogether because we were tired of our finances being on hold and because of the lack of customer service. We will not use PennyMac again and we certainly cannot recommend yo

If we didn’t already have 2 loans with PennyMac we never would have chosen them for refinancing.We thought this would make the process easier but not the case.They were impossible to get ahold of, you call & get redirected to whatever person you are assigned to during the loan process, but they were never around. You leave a voicemail & they get back to you two days later only to say that’s not their job description & you would have to be forwarded to someone else then they hang up.Worst experie

Ashley did not communicate anything well to us. This has been a nightmare experience since early April as Penny Mac could not properly communicate to us. We were set to close last week on Monday at 7pm, Amrock let us know at 6pm that Monday they had to cancel our closing because Ashley didnt provide them with our closing documents. We emailed and called Ashley again, still no response. I had to contact Amrock to find out they were coming to my home that day to close. Nothing was relayed to us.

Refinance process could have been clearer & more efficient. At times I could not reach loan processing personnel for the status of our loan. During the process loan personnel were negligent. Our loan didn’t close on time.

The whole process took a little longer than expected, however it was very smooth and all the communication was clear. Rachel was very helpful and the process couldn’t have gone better.
