The refinance process was smooth and pleasant.
Penny Mac didn't seem to know what documents it needed, asked multiple times for documents that were already provided. Representatives did not respond when questions were asked. The whole process seemed unorganized. Aside from our initial communication, no one else seemed to know where we were in the process, what we needed, and what we had already provided. This caused us to have very little confidence in Penny Mac as a whole.
Easy to use portal, communication was timely and when I had questions, response time was great
Yamila was the only person that explained things to me, she was amazing. Give her a raise. Samuel Etienne was possibly the worst customer service I had received in a long time. I was given a wrong date and when I would ask for updates I would get no response. I reached out to Tyler for assistance and was ignored. When I asked for an update I was told to refile. When asked why that was necessary, I got balnk emails. I would not like to do business with penny Mac again after this experience.
Working with Penny Mac was quick and painless. Everything was done over the phone and through their website. We did a 30 year VA Refinance with them at 2.25% which was the best rate we had seen around. For us it almost seemed to be too good to be true but now that we closed everything they told us was came to fruition. We are happy to have them as our lender for the next 30 years.
