Loan officers were professional, efficient and communicated clearly. Process was smooth with no surprises and no delays.
I was quoted 683 for closing cost. When the notary showed up at the house it was 864. After further review it looks like Briana just looked at the document and quoted me the wrong numbers.
Overall the process was really easy, you talk to a loan officer and get some initial quotations. Then you are assigned a loan processor that you communicate throughout the process. Due to the large volume of loan they are processing, sometimes you may have to call them and get a call back to talk to the processor. Other than that and one computer error that delayed the closing by about a week, we were happy with the results and would recommend PennyMac to people.
I have been with PennyMac for 5 years and decided to refinance my loan with them as well, after checking out another company. PennyMac made my process very easy. If I had any questions they were answered and when I called (even when I hung up before someone could answer) I received a call back. My closing process was quick and easy as well.
While Zachary was kind and updated us throughout, this process was not smooth. Documents on two separate occasions were requested twice. Our disclosures had incorrect figures. We anticipated simplicity as PennyMac had all of the original loan documentation. Our rate was not at all competitive and the timeframe for was significantly longer than expected. We were originally told that we would not need an appraisal, however ended up needing one.
Our second loan officer who I believe was Zachary, was great, not sure the reason we got transferred to another agent, but Zachary was very easy to talk to and was very polite and patient with any questions.
Great experience overall - responsive and quick to answer questions.
