Aside from the subpar tech platform for the entire process it was done quickly and communicated very well. Both my loan rep and servicer did an excellent job. I only mention the online tools as it seems like PennyMac is using something that was developed a long time ago. Only advice I would give is to spend some $$ on updating your user interface.

John Buchanan was very knowledgeable and very helpful. My closing happened in just over 2 weeks. So easy and so fast, I can't recommend highly enough.
Process began in mid-April and closure in mid-August. Way too long for a refinance when PennyMac held the mortgage. As a result, addition bank docs requested as ones I had previously sent were older than 60 days & a request for "all pages" of a bank statement when the documents show "Page 1 of 1." Because of the delay we were able to take advantage of new mortgage rates, from an initial quote of 3. 25% to 2.625% Robert Gillespie who came in late was very good and closing went well.
Been reaching out with questions since after signing the closing documents and have never heard back. Phone calls never went answered during the refinance. Not able to speak to anyone at all, only directed me to a voice mailbox. The service from Rachel was great, I'm just disappointed in how Pennymac as a company limits the communication. I still have unanswered questions that are time-sensitive and don't know if ill ever hear back.
Beginning of the process was fine but middle to end experience wasn’t great. Questions needed to be asked repeatedly because I was not getting a response or the answer was rushed and unclear. At times I felt there was a lack of professionalism in email communication. Happy with the loan itself but process could be improved.
I would highly recommend PennyMac, everything about the loan was communicated and done in a timely manner. Very great customer service.
During the initial application contact was great and i was called by Penny Mac and instructed what to do and questions were answered. Initial document upload was fine. When I transitioned to the MAC team i would get emails from them and reply with questions. Not one email was answered! Not one! I Phone contact was just as bad. Mr. Lusk of the MAC never responded to me even once.
