The service was great. Everything was communicated clearly.
The communication was awful.When we called the number provided it always went to a voicemail with no callback.When we sent emails, the response time was 3+ days later.We spent a lot of time just trying to get simple updates.Loan processing agent quit at the end of our process and the agents who took over did not keep me updated whatsoever. The closing date got extended 2x. The last extension was because they are so backed up.Paperwork arrived at title co. the day of closing. Very unprofessional.
Our loan officer Bryan Devore was very knowledgeable. He ran the numbers for the loan we were asking and he told us the savings on our current payment, what we could do with the extra money to pay off our current loan earlier, and the costs of the loan. He also took the time to go over pros & cons of our current loan & the refinance. His team was great including Elizabeth Estrada who closed our loan ahead of time. Communication was great & I always knew what was coming & what I was signing.
The entire process was virtually quick and painless. from the beginning with me inquiring on the PennyMac website to speaking with Jacob Rogers on a weekly basis, the appraisal and the actual signing of paperwork. I will definitely recommend PennyMac to my friends and family.
The loan officer and team did a good job once I was able to connect with them. It took me about a week to be connected with them though. The pre-screening call center dropped my calls twice and routed me once to the wrong loan officer that only did new loans; I do not think the call center staff are trained very well and they couldn't answer my questions. Two days I gave up trying to reach anyone after being on hold for more than 45 minutes. The front end service experience was very poor.
Never told why it took so long. Was asked for information that was previously provided. Ended up with six different payoff request statements.
