The process was smooth and very straight forward. The entire process was quick and painless aside from digging out all the needed documents. It was much easier than I expected :)
The beginning was very slow. It was 2 weeks with no contact until I reached out by phone. The process was smooth once Gina Merritt got involved.
In spite of the sheer volume of other clients refinancing mortgages, ours moved ahead very nicely.
Overall, given the volume of refinances during the pandemic, the entire PennyMac team was prompt, professional, and very helpful every step of the process.
Simple, fast, great communication, loved being able to close at my dining room table. All support personnel from beginning to end were very friendly and professional. Closed in record time compared to most companies I've used before.

Overall, our experience was good. When we did get to talk to someone, every person we spoke to was helpful and friendly and made sure all our questions were answered. But unless we initiated the communication, we did not receive any updates during the refinancing process. It was supposed to take 30 days or less, but ended up being more than 2 months, and during that time, we were not given any updates for our application explaining why it was being held up. That was a bit frustrating.
