Getting Blen was the best thing that happened in the unacceptable process and follow up that preceded her involvement. My closing and access to my home was 8 days after the scheduled July 6th scheduled closing date, the date determined by PennyMac on May 2nd, two months prior to that closing date. Due to many factors that Tina and I believe should have been predicted and addressed much earlier in the process. The delay in closing cost me +$450 in temp lodging expense too!

Jacob and the team worked hard to get the loan done on time. But due to some issues within in some departments it was delayed. Jacob stayed in contact thru the process and returned my calls in a timely manner.
Communication, communication, communication...I would not hear anything for weeks, the portal was not updated with the status, emails and phone calls went unanswered.
The online lender experience was not worth it. The start of the loan process went well. At that time I was able to contact the loan officer with any questions. Everything changed once the loan went into processing. It was almost impossible to contact anyone on the MAC team. Underwriting waited until the week before close to ask for a higher down payment amount. The change in down payment & points means I was unable to properly shop for loans since the terms changed too far into the process.
Jacob always returned my calls and answered my questions in a timely manner. Looking forward to working will PennyMac in the future.

Rachel Harris caused our loan to erroneously be cancelled and failed to give us the courtesy of a call informing us. She was totally incompetent. Blen Alemu was, by and large, unresponsive to us when we needed critical information on our VA loan. I was very disappointed. There is no reason or excuse as to why Penny Mac took five (5) months to process this loan. We have been long time clients with 2 mortgages with Penny Mac. We are very dissatisfied with Penny Mac's efforts.
